NordVPN Review
Broad protocol coverage, audited no-logs posture, and consistent throughput across long-haul routes.

Networking Editorial
Overview
Broad protocol coverage, audited no logs posture, and consistent throughput across long haul routes.
NordVPN pairs a mature client suite with an infrastructure profile that has been independently audited on several occasions. Throughput on NordLynx (WireGuard) is consistent across North American and European endpoints and remains within a narrow band under sustained transfer.
Manual router deployment is possible but requires the OpenVPN configuration files rather than a native WireGuard interface, which lengthens setup for firewall based topologies.
Strengths
- Native WireGuard (NordLynx) with tuned MTU defaults
- Independent no logs audits by PwC and Deloitte
- Diskless RAM only server fleet across primary regions
- Stable performance on 1 Gbps residential uplinks
Limitations
- Port forwarding not supported
- Router firmware requires manual OpenVPN configuration
- Static IP available only as a paid add on
